GUWAHATI: A teacher from Shrimanta Shankar Academy, Dispur has been accused of “physically and mentally” abusing a Class-III student of the school.
According to a report in The Assam Tribune, parents of some students met with the principal seeking action against the teacher and in a written letter, demanded an enquiry into the incident.

The letter mentioned that the incident took place on the last day of the annual examination and the accused teacher had allegedly threatened the girl with dire consequences if she disclosed the matter to anyone.
The parents of around 70 students from the school, undersigning a statement, urged the authorities to conduct an impartial enquiry so that the truth is revealed and justice is served.
Interestingly, the school authorities have denied the allegation in an FIR lodged with the Dispur Police Station and termed it an attempt to bring disrepute to the school.
