GUWAHATI: Binita Jain, a resident of Athgaon, Guwahati has become the first winner to take home Rs. 100,00,000 (1 Crore) in this season of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). Contestant Binita and her family's happiness sees no bounds during the winning moment.
Upon winning 1 crore, Binita was also given a Mahindra Morzzo car by Amitabh Bachchan. She then gifted Amitabh with the Assamese gamosa, winning the hearts of the Assamese people.
A tutor and teacher by profession, Binita teaches at Namann Educations, Athgaon, Guwahati.
Binita is a mother of two - her son Rohit Jain is currently studying dentistry from Bangalore while daughter Kavya Jain is pursuing English Hons from the University of Delhi.
The episode starring Binita aired on October 1 and 2 on Sony Entertainment Television. In the episode, Binita was seen gifting a pack of the world’s most expensive tea grown in Assam to host Amitabh Bachchan.
While Binita quit after winning 1 crore, her guess was correct for the 7 crore question as well.
With the KBC winnings, Binita wants to open her son's dental clinic and pay for her daughter's higher education. Binita also wants to open up a coaching centre for the underprivileged.
The story of Binita’s personal is also a heart wrenching one. Binita revealed on the show that in February 2003, her husband didn't return from a business trip. Later the family came to know that he was kidnapped, allegedly by terrorists. There has been no information on his whereabouts and he has been declared legally dead, as per reports.
