GUWAHATI: The Rotary Club of Guwahati Luit and the Rotary Guwahati Luit Trust donated 16 new smartphones to the Noonmati High School at Jyotinagar area of Guwahati on Monday under a mobile phone library project.

"Pandemic coronavirus has affected everyone and students are the most who have suffered due to indefinite shutdown of schools. Schools have started online classes for the students of Class 9 to 12 but many students from the families of low-income groups are unable to attend the same due to non-availability of smartphones at home. We at Rotary Club of Guwahati Luit & Rotary Guwahati Luit Trust decided to set up smartphone libraries in schools for the benefit of marginalised students," stated the organisation in a press release.
