Guwahati Riverfront Beautification Project Underway To Transform City Into Tourist Hub

 

GUWAHATI: Assam Housing & Urban Affairs Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah has provided an update on the ongoing Guwahati Riverfront Beautification project and stated the potential to establish the city as a key tourist destination. He stated that the Guwahati Riverfront Beautification work is expected to be finished by April.

Mallabaruah stated that development work along the riverfront is in full swing, with plans to construct two to three gardens near the Brahmaputra River. 

“Initiatives are been taken for beautification of the city. In and around Brahmaputra can be a place of tourist attraction. Consequently, the construction of two parks near the bridge connecting Guwahati-North Guwahati is nearly complete.” Jayanta Mallabaruah said. 

“The Guwahati Riverfront Beautification work is ongoing and is expected to be finished by April. Once all the projects are completed, Guwahati will emerge as a major tourist destination," he added.

By transforming the riverfront into a scenic and well-equipped attraction, the project aims to position Guwahati as a must-visit location.
