Guwahati Railway Police Rescue Minor Girl

GUWAHATI: On 30th October, Guwahati Railway Police rescued a minor girl who was found to be moving alone in the concourse area of Guwahati Railway Station in distressed condition. 


On being asked, she disclosed her name and age. Later she stated that she ran away from her home at Bijoynagar, under Kamrup (M) district of Assam. Thereafter, the minor girl aged about 17 years was brought to Railway Police Force, Guwahati for further necessary action. 


After a medical examination and observing all formalities the rescued minor girl was handed over to Railway Child Help Line, Guwahati.


Railway police also seized 7 bags containing suspected ganja from the Dibrugarh-Delhi Special B.P. Mail at Guwahati Railway Station on 30th October during routine check-up. The bags contained total 80 kgs of ganja, which were duly seized by SI/GRP/ Guwahati in presence of RPF and other witnesses as the bags were unclaimed. Value of the recovered contraband goods are approximately Rs 4, 00,000.


Another 3 packets wrapped in black polythene containing about 15 kgs of ganja, valued approximately Rs 75,000 were seized from Dimapur Railway station. The packets were handed over to Custom Department, Dimapur for further course of action.
