GUWAHATI: Tensions flared in the Silsako area of Guwahati, as a protest unfolded at 10 AM today. The demonstration was triggered by the visit of Narayan Das, a former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), and a team from the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) to address the community regarding an ongoing demarcation process.
The situation escalated rapidly, resulting in a clash between local residents and police authorities present at the scene.
Chants of dissent filled the air as residents voiced their objections to the proposed demarcation. The protestors rallied against the decision, demanding that the ruling government attentively consider their concerns and address their pressing demands.
Speaking to G Plus, a resident of Chachal said, "The objection was made to make the government understand our grief. There was no misbehaviour from our side. It was more of a commotion for discontent".
As the situation develops, both the authorities and the protestors remain engaged in a standoff, awaiting potential resolution and effective communication.
