GUWAHATI: Ending the year with a bash is a must and what better way to celebrate than with a feast with loved ones.
Making note of these festivities, sellers have increased prices of fish, meat and vegetables by four times the regular price. However, this has not discouraged people from buying their favorite ingredients for an amazing last meal for the year.
Prices of various meats are extremely high at the moment. Duck meat costs Rs. 600 per kg, chicken costs Rs. 400, Chital fish costs Rs. 750-800, Barali fish costs Rs. 650-700, Rohu fish costs Rs. 400-450 and Bahu fish costs Rs. 450-500. The price of vegetables has also risen. Cabbage costs Rs. 30-40 and brinjal, Rs. 20-25.
This increase in prices has, however, not discouraged people from buying their favorite ingredients for an amazing last meal for the year and people are still flocking to the market.
