Guwahati Premier Football League: NRL Defeats YAC 3-0

GUWAHATI: In a one-sided encounter at Judges' Field, the 12th match of the Guwahati Premier Football League (GPFL) on Tuesday between Young Amateur Club (YAC) and Numaligarh Refinery Ltd (NRL) ended in a convincing victory for the latter. The clash ended in a 3-0 triumph for NRL as they overpowered YAC.

The scoring began when Papu Deori showcased his precision, finding the net twice in quick succession in the 16th and 19th minute. The momentum continued in NRL's favour as Arman sealed the victory with a goal in the 51st minute.

The match, however, was not without its share of disciplinary issues. Pabitra Rabha from YAC received a yellow card in the 86th minute and another in injury time, leading to a subsequent red card as YAC finished the match with 10 men.

Deori was rightfully awarded the Player of the Match for his early breakthroughs. In recognition of his stellar contributions, he received a trophy and a cash award of ₹2100, presented by Bhola Boro, the Vice-president of Guwahati Sports Association (GSA).

Looking ahead, the football fervour is set to continue at Judges' Field on December 20 with two exciting matches. First up is the clash between Barekuri FC and United Chirang Duar FC, kicking off at 2:45 PM. Following that, Assam Police will take on Pride East Mavericks at 5 PM.
