GUWAHATI: With the constant rise in temperatures in the city, what could be more troubling than a power outage that lasts for hours.
On Wednesday, August 28, a few prime locations of Guwahati such as- Panbazar, Paltan Bazar, Ulubari and Uzan Bazar witnessed power cuts for more than 6 hours.
The Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd (APDCL) allegedly failed to notify the residents and also to restore power until midnight and after midnight in some areas.

Speaking to G Plus a resident of Paltan Bazar said, "No electricity since 6 hours in Paltan bazar area. The helpline numbers not meant for any help as they are always busy."
Another citizen alleged that these power cuts are happening very often now and if it occurs in one area of the city today, another area will be affected the next day.
Meanwhile, with the intense heatwave and frequent power cuts, the citizens are having to face consequences.
