Guwahati Police Seizes Suspected Stolen Goods In Six Mile Raid, Four Arrested

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Police raided a dump yard near Six Mile on Wednesday, October 23, acting on intelligence inputs to crack down on theft and illegal activities. The raid led to the seizure of a large quantity of suspected stolen items and the arrest of four individuals.

The items seized from the yard include 15 kg of old electric mainline wire, cut into 2-foot pieces, 13 kg of new electric mainline wire, also cut into 2-foot pieces, 25 kg of cable wire with plastic covering, 13 kg of copper wires, and 12 air conditioning pipes weighing 7 kg.

Additionally, two red-coloured 24-volt batteries, one red-coloured Bajaj water pump, 45 cast iron kadai (cooking pans), several water taps, and two shower tubes.

The individuals arrested during the raid were identified as Maidul Islam (21) and Bilal Hussain (35) of Huntuli, Junab Ali (32) of Topamari, and Jukbar Ali (26) of Barpeta. All four suspects have been taken into custody, and legal proceedings have been initiated against them.

Authorities are also continuing their investigation to determine the full extent of the stolen goods, and to trace any potential links to other theft incidents in the area.
