GUWAHATI: Another thief was caught by private security personnel on Wednesday, October 23. He was identified as Hemanta Nath, a criminal with a history of theft, at the GMCH (Gauhati Medical College and Hospital).

Nath was handed over to the Bhangagarh police station for legal proceedings. During questioning, he disclosed the names of shops in Athgaon where he allegedly sells his stolen goods.
This incident raises further concerns about security on the GMCH campus,following a previous theft involving fire-fighting hoses and pipes reported at the Superspeciality Hospital Campus. In this earlier case, a suspect, Kankan Deka, was arrested by the private security team in the early hours of Thursday, October 17.
