GUWAHATI: A minor girl abducted from Paltan Bazar was rescued by the police, with one of the kidnappers taken into custody, on February 13, Thursday.

The victim, a student of Nicholes Higher Secondary School, was allegedly lured out of her home by an acquaintance in Manipur Basti, Paltan Bazar. The suspect known to the girl reportedly drugged her before taking her to Borpathar in Golaghat district.
Talking to GPlus, a senior police officer from Paltan Bazar police station said, “The girl had been abducted by the suspect who we believe is her romantic partner. She had been missing since February 7. But, we recovered her safely today.”
Acting on intelligence, Paltan Bazar police tracked the victim’s location and carried out a rescue operation. A suspect was apprehended, as further investigations are underway.
