Guwahati Police Remains Alert During 'Janta Curfew'

GUWAHATI: As the ever busy city of Guwahati shut itself down to observe the Janta Curfew, the city police was seen doing their regular jobs to help the people of Guwahati. Many police officials were seen across the city along with army officials asking the few people who were out on the streets to cooperate and stay indoors. 

"Police personnel have been deployed to appeal to the public to observe the Janata Curfew and to facilitate smooth movement of people from railway stations and airports to their homes," commissioner of police Munna Prasad Gupta informed G Plus.

He added that it's a joint effort of all the police departments and there has been no additional deployment of force in Guwahati.

Speaking to G Plus one police personnel informed, "It is our duty and we would do everything possible to prevent the spread of coronavirus."

"We are not allowing people to form groups and asking all to stay at home for everyone's safety." Officer in Charge, Bharalumukh PS. 

Bharalumukh PS was seen discharging regular duties of this PS. However, in cue of guidelines issued as preventive measures by the government, the police station has installed washbasins for all, were seen wearing masks and has also displayed notices and guidelines to aware the masses.
