GUWAHATI: As the mortal remains of the former chief minister of Assam late Tarun Gogoi will be cremated tomorrow, November 26 at the Nabagraha Crematorium with complete state honour, the Guwahati Traffic Police has issued regulations to be followed during this period.
As per the beloved leader's wish, Tarun Gogoi's mortal remains will be taken for a last blessing to religious institutions of all religions - temple, mosque, and church.
Tomorrow morning, he will first be taken to his government quarter at Minister's Colony from Srimanta Shankardeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati.

From there, he will be taken to Rukminigaon Catholic Church for a last prayer. The funeral procession will then move towards Ganeshguri and then take the RG Baruah Road. It will halt in front of the Shankardeva Namghar.
Gogoi will then be taken to Bura Jama Masjid via GNB Road. Taking the KLB Road and MG Road, the procession will reach Sukreshwar Temple and turn back towards Navagraha Crematorium after a halt at Ugratara Devalaya.
Guwahati Traffic Police has issued certain guidelines to be followed by all during the time of the procession. No parking will be allowed along GNB Road and the Navagraha Crematorium on 26th November.
Incoming traffic from Chandmari will be blocked at Nizarapar. That road will be allowed only one-sided traffic from Navagraha. The Chenikuthi by-lane connecting to the crematorium will be blocked at the MC Road point, and will also be allowed for one way traffic.
People who wish to attend the funeral have to park their vehicles at Chandmari Engineering Ground.
Traffic will be diverted at the Rotary opposite TC School, and at Chandmari Point.
Guwahati Traffic Police personnel have urged citizens to keep away from the paths of the procession to the extent possible to prevent traffic congestion.
