Guwahati Police Crack Beltola Burglary Case, Three Arrested

 

GUWAHATI: Guwahati police on Saturday, March 1, cracked a burglary case that took place at Sundaram Apartment in Jayanagar, Beltola, leading to the arrest of three individuals and the recovery of stolen valuables.

On February 26, while the homeowner was away, burglars had broken into the residence and looted ₹1 lakh in cash, gold ornaments, and other valuables.

Following a swift investigation, police identified two burglars, Hassan Ali (29) and Rashidul Hoque (26). Acting on intelligence inputs, a high-intensity night operation was launched, resulting in their arrest.

During interrogation, the authorities further uncovered a crucial lead—Fajar Ali (45), a jeweler, who was the mastermind handling the stolen loot. A raid at his shop led to the recovery of:

- ₹2.5 lakh in cash
- Gold and silver ornaments (including chains, rings, bangles, and bracelets)
- Brass bars and melting tools
- A scooter (AS01BX1932) used in the crime
- Clothes worn during the burglary
- Two stolen mobile phones

All three accused have confessed to their involvement, and legal proceedings have been initiated. The authorities have also assured that further investigation is ongoing to uncover any possible links to other criminal activities.
