GUWAHATI: Guwahati's Paltan Bazar police arrested Somiyur Rahman who had been absconding since December 3 after he slit his wife’s throat in Guwahati. He was arrested in Cooch Behar.
The body of a 27-year-old woman named Anjuma Bibi was found in her rented house at Ratan Dewan Path in the Ulubari area of Guwahati on December 3.

Her body was wrapped in a blanket and placed under a cot after her throat was slit heinously by her husband Somiyur.

The Paltan bazaar police was successful in getting hold of Somiyur within two days in Cooch Behar on Saturday, December 5 and he was later brought to Guwahati, as confirmed by PS Prakash Tiwari to G Plus.
