Guwahati Petrol Pumps likely to go cashless from today

GUWAHATI: The petrol pump owners of Kamrup Metropolitan District Administration have decided to go cashless from April 18, 2019 until the on-going seven-phase parliamentary elections are over.

The decision has come after facing trouble over cash transaction post the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) for the Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

However, the petrol pump owners will meet the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kamrup today at noon to decide on the situation that the pump owners had to face because of the cash transactions in the bank. If they are not given assurances by the DC and Election Commission on the issue, all pumps will go cashless until 23rd April.
