GUWAHATI: Tokyo Olympic medallist Lovlina Borgohain reached Guwahati on Thursday, August 12 at around 9 AM.
Assam Chief Minister (CM) Himanta Biswa Sarma was present at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBI) in Borjhar to welcome the Assam boxer.
State Sports Minister Bimal Bora and Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika, Kamrup (Metro) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Biswajit Pegu among others accompanied the Chief Minister to welcome the pugilist.
Meanwhile, Guwahati is decked up to welcome Borgohain today. Posters and hoardings have been put up across the city to welcome her.
The Assam government has organised a felicitation programme at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra where she would be accompanied by the Assam Chief Minister. Security has been strengthened in and around the area.
