GUWAHATI: National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed a charge sheet against 8 persons for their involvement in the Zoo road grenade blast case on November 11.
The accused are Pappu Koch Bokoliyal alias Bijoy Asom alias Anvi alias Rajini (32), of Dibrugarh; Jahnabee Saikia (49) of Kamrup (M); Pranamoy alias Pranmay Rajguru (57) of Sivasagar; Chinmoy Lahkar (25) of Kamrup (M); Indra Mohan Bora (25) of Nagaon; Amrit Ballav Goswami (41) of Golaghat; Sankib Talukdar (26) of Kamrup (R) and Prakash Rajkonwar (63) of Tinsukia district.
Earlier, on May 15, A grenade blast was reported in the city at Zoo Road near Guwahati Central and for which ULFA-I Commander in Chief Paresh Baruah took responsibility of the blast. Baruah said it was an attack on CRPF petrol.
However, Elusive Paresh Barua has extended his regret for the people who were injured in the explosion.
At least 11 people have been injured in the blast which took place near Zoo Road outside a branch of Punjab National Bank in Guwahati at around 6:20 PM.
