Guwahati: Newly Inaugurated Maligaon Flyover Named After Nilachal Hills

GUWAHATI: The much-awaited flyover at Maligaon is set to be called “Nilachal Flyover,” after the holy Nilachal Hills. The newly constructed flyover, seamlessly linking Maligaon Chariali, Kamakhya Gate, and Pandu Ghat, is poised to redefine urban connectivity and transportation in the state.

The main flyover, located on AT Road, boasts an impressive 4-lane width spanning 16.6 metres, extending over a length of 2.065 kilometers.

Additionally, the project features a feeder road to Pandu Ghat with a 2-lane width of 8 metres, covering a distance of 210 metres which was constructed with an estimated budget of over ₹420 crore.

The flyover was inauguarated by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The event was also graced by dignitaries including Ashok Singhal, Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs and Irrigation, Assam; Atul Bora, MLA of Dispur Legislative Assembly Constituency; Queen Oja, Member of Parliament, Guwahati; Siddhartha Bhattacharya, MLA of Gauhati East Legislative Assembly Constituency; and Ramendra Narayan Kalita, MLA of Gauhati West Legislative Assembly Constituency.
