Guwahati: New Commissionerate Of Police Building To Be Completed By End Of 2024

GUWAHATI: The construction of the new Commissionerate of Police (CP) building in Khanapara is slated to be completed by the end of 2024.

Talking to GPlus, an official from the construction company said, "The building will closely resemble the National Investigation Agency (NIA) building.” It is being constructed on a plot of land measuring two bighas in Khanapara.

A senior official from the Public Works Department (PWD) told GPlus,  "Approximately ₹110 crore has been allocated for the construction, and the building is designed to stand eight stories tall."

"The building will be completed by the end of the year with full functionality expected from 2025," the official further added. 

The Commissionerate will amalgamate essential departments encompassing crime prevention, investigation, traffic management, and administrative offices, creating an integrated space to enhance overall law enforcement efficiency. 

Earlier, the Assam Cabinet on August 31, 2023, gave its nod to the establishment of a new Commissionerate of Police.
