GUWAHATI: On Tuesday night, July 2, four miscreants entered the house of a mother-daughter duo and stabbed them multiple times at around 9:30 pm in Panjabari area of the city.
The victims have been identified as Urvasi Koibarta and Thapona Koibarta.
The duo were rushed to GNRC hospital following the incident, where Urvashi died and Thapona is now out of danger.
Authorities from Satgaon police station are investigating the matter.
They have said that the assailants were known to the family and attacked them as the latter failed to pay Rs. 10 lakhs.
Two arrests have been made so far, and two others are yet to be caught as they are on the run.
