GUWAHATI: Mantu Hussain alias Hamidul Islam (29), has been arrested by Paltan Bazar Police Station, Guwahati for charging money from people on the pretext of providing Health Insurance.
Mantu stayed as a tenant at Imran Hussain's place in Gandhi Basti, Guwahati and faked his identity as a bank worker. As per sources, he was caught for cheating a sum of Rs 2,98,000 in the name of selling health insurance to people in Guwahati.
He was also accused of cheating in Jakhalabandha, Assam for around Rs 11 lakh. This was informed to G Plus by Jagdish Kalita, sub-inspector (SI) of Paltan Bazar Police Station.
