GUWAHATI: A man was allegedly attacked by his son in West Chapaidang near the Panikhaiti area early in the morning of March 4.

The incident unfolded today when the son under the influence of alcohol allegedly hit his father with a rod, leading to his death.

The deceased has been identified as Daya Bhatti who was around 55 years old.
Meanwhile, the accused identified to be Prantush Bhatti was apprehended and is now in police custody.
While speaking to GPlus a police official from the Panikhaiti Police Outpost said, "There were some scuffles going on since last night. However, we got the information about the incident this morning. Further legal proceedings will be initiated soon."
