GUWAHATI: A major cylinder blast was reported in the early hours of Friday, December 11 in Guwahati.

The incident took place at around 10:50 am in Bakrapara, near Manasa mandir in the Basistha area of Guwahati, according to the fire department.
Two LPG cylinders blasted at the same time in the rented house of a pharmacist named Shamil Saha.
"I was buying vegetables and suddenly I saw fire coming out from the pharmacist's house. After a few minutes simultaneously two cylinders blasted and luckily everyone in the house came out running and there were no causalities" Mridul Das, a local resident told G Plus.
According to the reports of the fire department, the damage caused by the fire is approximately Rs 50,000. It took three water pumps to extinguish the fire.
