GUWAHATI: A local 21-year-old youth in Guwahati's Hatiagon has destroyed three motorcycles after getting rejected by a girl for marriage.

The boy poured kerosene on the scooty of the girl at her residence in Brindaban Nagar, Hatigaon area of Guwahati. Besides the scooty that was totally burnt two motorcycles parked nearby were also damaged.
As per sources, the boy and the girl were allegedly in a romantic relationship. However, his proposal for marriage was rejected. Among other reasons, one reason for the rejection was his education qualifications which was a barrier in their relationship. The girl was a BA pass whereas the boy had completed his HSLC. This was opposed by the family, a source close to the matter told G Plus.
Upon getting rejected, the boy was suffering from mental trauma and was even stalking the girl.
An FIR has been filed by the parents of the girl and the landlord of the house where the girl stays. This was confirmed to G Plus by Biren Deka, Officer in Charge (OC) of Hatigaon Police Station. "The guy has escaped but we will catch him as he is a local," the official added.
