GUWAHATI: In a noble gesture, freshly baked pizzas were distributed to affected families and people in need in Guwahati on March 30.
This initiative was taken up by Pizza Hut located at Dona Planet in ABC, Guwahati.
It is to be mentioned that Imdadul H Bora, IPS, DIG along with Himanshu Das, ACP Dispur were part of the distribution session that took place between 1 PM and 3 PM.
Here in Guwahati, atleast 15 percent of the working class earn their daily bread either by working as labourers or by other menial jobs like rag picking. With the sudden lockdown these people are finding it hard to find their daily basic food requirements.
Meanwhile, Assam Police along with other NGO's around Guwahati has provided shelter to many of the homeless people who live under the city's flyovers and on the footpaths. Yet, Guwahati continues to see a lot of them living with the same distress at this time of the crisis.
