GUWAHATI: Following the incident of a leopard killing a six-year-old boy in Maligaon, Guwahati, a leopard was trapped on 25th August night in a cage set up by Assam forest department.
Later on, the leopard was brought to the rescue center of Assam State Zoo, Guwahati by the staff of Kamrup East Division with the help of Guwahati police team of Maligaon area.

On August 21, a 6-year-old child in the Nilachal Hills area in Guwahati's Maligaon area tragically succumbed to death following a leopard attack.
Although locals who saw the horrific incident unfolding in front of their eyes raised a hue-and-cry, it proved to be too late to save the child.
