GUWAHATI: A few unidentified men looted an apartment in Chachal area of VIP road, Guwahati, while the owner was out of station. The theft was discovered on December 11, when the owner Dhiraj Goswami returned from Bangalore.
As per a CCTV camera footage accessed by G Plus, the unidentified men had tried to trace people as they climbed up the stairs to the apartment.
G Plus spoke to the former Ranji player Dhiraj Goswami, who claimed that jewellery worth Rs 5-6 lakh and a cash of Rs 90,000 have been stolen from his apartment. The wardrobe lockers were broken to take out the valuables.
As per Goswami, the theft looks "pre-planned", and someone who knows the apartment might have been involved.
An FIR has been lodged at the Dispur Police Station. The police are now investigating the matter, however, they have not identified a single person, police sources told G Plus.
