GUWAHATI: The Special Task Force (STF), Assam conducted a targeted anti-drug operation in Dakhingaon, Kahilipara, under the jurisdiction of Dispur Police Station, leading to the seizure of over 118 grams of suspected heroin and the apprehension of two suspected drug peddlers in the same on November 3.

During the raid, authorities seized a soap box containing approximately 11.43 gram of suspected heroin (excluding packaging) and a mobile phone. Additionally, acting on specific intelligence, the authorities raided Dakhingaon and detained 32-year-old Mafizur Rahman, a resident of Katabari, Natun Basti. The suspect Rahman was also found in possession of a two-wheeler with the registration number AS 01 FL 2243
Following Rahman’s apprehension, the STF team proceeded to search a rented house in Milan Nagar, Dakhingaon, Kahilipara, where 23-year-old Nur Hussain, another suspected drug peddler, was apprehended. In this raid, officers recovered nine soap boxes containing approximately 107.63 gram of suspected heroin (excluding packaging), a mobile phone, and ₹95 in cash.
The two arrests yielded a total of 118.45 gram of suspected heroin across 10 soap boxes, two mobile phones, ₹95 in cash, and a seized two-wheeler. Both suspects, Mafizur Rahman and Nur Hussain, have been taken into custody, and formal procedures are underway for further investigation.
