GUWAHATI: On October 27, the Special Task Force (STF) in Assam initiated a robust crackdown on illegal teer gambling activities in the vicinity of Fatasil GMC, New Colony M.B. Road, under the jurisdiction of Fatasil Ambari Police Station. The operation, which commenced at approximately 3:30 PM, led to the apprehension of several habitual teer gamblers and the confiscation of various incriminating items.
During the operation, law enforcement officials seized a lot of incriminating materials including 45 Teer gambling books, cash amounting to ₹6340, and four papers indicating Teer shooting time (District: Ri-Bhoi, Meghalaya). The STF operation resulted in the apprehension of four individuals, all of whom were identified as habitual teer gamblers.
The apprehended individuals are Bijoy Raj (22 yrs) from Bishnupur, Harindra Sah (19 yrs) from Rathkhola Gully, Nazrul Hoque (40 yrs) from Birubari, and Dukha Mahato (47 yrs) from Biren Boro Path. Following the operation, the apprehended individuals, along with the seized items, were handed over to the local police for further legal action.
