GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) will give Rs 1,000 for providing information on violations done on public property from November 10.
The GMC has highlighted the increasing usage of posters and bills that have been pasted on public property, walls, and pillars of flyovers. GMC Commissioner Devashish Sarma also criticised the increasing cases of spitting of gutka and betel juice on public property.
The Corporation has announced a cash reward of Rs 1,000 cash for posting pictures of the offenders on the Internet. They will soon share a hashtag and a link in which people can complain about the matter.
The GMC has also released the following helpline numbers: 8811007000, 7399003001, 7399003002, and 7399003004. People can use these numbers to post images of violations and their addresses.
This was told to G Plus by Guwahati Municipal Corporation Commissioner Devashish Sarma.
"If you (people) see anyone, you can give us the address and we will give you Rs 1,000. However, the reward will be given on a first-come, first-served basis if more than one person submits a complaint about the same violation," added the GMC Commissioner.
Posters of advertisements of various businesses were seen recently pasted on the Ganeshguri flyover extension towards R G Baruah Road in Guwahati.
