GUWAHATI: Tania Choudhury from Guwahati has won a bronze in the women’s singles lawn bowls championship held in Gold Coast, Australia.
She defeated Japan’s Keiko Kurohara, world and Commonwealth Games champion Jo Edwards, winner of world singles titles in 1996 and 2016 Norfolk Islander Carmen Anderson, America’s Alexis Van Den Bos and Brunei’s Dayang Muntol to make her place.
19 bowling nations from Asia and Oceania took part in the championship which was held across three host clubs in Gold Coast.
She hails from Uzanbazar area of Guwahati and is the daughter of Anup Kr. Choudhury and Pankaja Baruah.
