GUWAHATI: Nilufar Ahmed from Guwahati, aged 22, won the gold medal in right hand (under-70kg) category at the 4th National Armwrestling Championship, BCAI, 2024 held in Duliajan from June 6 to June 8.
She also became the Champion of the Champions after contesting and winning between all the gold medalists of different weight classes. Nilufar also has been recognised as India's Strongest Women Armwrestler (Senior Women), 2024.
Talking to GPlus, Nilufar Ahmed said, “The level of competition was high and tight and I managed to clinch the gold through all the adversities, which is definitely a great feeling. I prepared myself very well for the competition.”
