GUWAHATI: The Guwahati City Police in Fancy Bazar collected more than Rs 3 lakh as fines owing to COVID-19 protocol violation since the outbreak of the pandemic. Along with that, it has collected other fines including parking violations in the area.
G Plus spoke to Sub-Inspector Jayanta Das, Fancy Bazar Police Station, who stated that "people have no discipline and they don't give importance to us."
Along with that, the Police have also collected regular fines owing to parking violations, which is rampant in the area.
Notably, Fancy Bazar was one of the hotspots of the city when COVID-19 cases spread with the Alu (potato) Godown area being the epicentre.
