GUWAHATI: In a shocking incident, a 16-year-old girl was raped at her own home during a puja in the Boragaon area of Guwahati on August 2. The harrowing incident occurred while the family was performing the religious ceremony with at least five people in attendance.
The FIR was filed yesterday at the Gorchuk Police Station.
The main accused in the case has been identified as Fakir from Nalbari, according to a Gorchuk police station official. The accused is currently on the run.
The young girl was allegedly drugged, along with the rest of her family members.
Speaking to G Plus, a senior police official said, "It has been revealed that the family members, along with the young girl, were drugged during the puja."
