Guwahati: Ex-Minister’s son accused of thrashing woman surrenders

GUWAHATI: Nekibur Zaman, son of former Minister of Assam Nurjamal Sarkar, has reportedly surrendered before the Basistha Police station after remaining absconding for a day in a case where he was accused of thrashing a woman.
   
Zaman, who is the Managing Director (MD) of Hotel Grand Majesty, on May 8 had allegedly thrashed an OYO employee in the hotel premises that is situated in Hatigaon area of the city.

As per reports, the female employee was dragged and thrashed by Zaman at around 10 o clock in the morning on Wednesday. 
 
Following the incident, OYO authority, which runs the hotel, lodged an FIR against Zaman at 5:30 PM in the evening.
