GUWAHATI: The earthen lamp sellers of Fancy Bazar, Guwahati say that they have been affected with subdued demand this Diwali due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The shopkeepers in the MM Road area of Fancy Bazar, Guwahati which is the hub of the fruits market and hardware shops, usually sell Diwali lamps and firecrackers ahead of the festival.
However, this time the demand has been due to which the sellers have complained of very limited business activity.

"So far the selling is pretty miniscule," said a popular lamp seller of the area.
The sellers are hopeful that the last two days ahead of Diwali will make up for the lower sales.
"We are banking on the last two days. As compared to the previous years, it is very less. Maybe people have less money this year," a lamp seller added.
