GUWAHATI: Tokobari, Barowari Durga Puja which was initiated with Rs 140, will complete 76 years in 2019. The budget of the puja this year is Rs 25 lakh.
The puja pandal will feature beautiful designs made of various waste items including wood shavings, peanut shells, pine cones and dried shell of bael fruit among other things. These waste materials comprise 80 percent of the total materials used for the construction of the puja decorations and the remaining 20 percent was made using thermocol and plywood.
Some of the designs include those of flowers and multiple geometric patterns.
The pandal has been designed by an architect, Montu Das, who hails from West Bengal and the artisans working on the pandal and even those installing the lighting have come all the way from the same.
