Don Bosco School, Guwahati, was a hub of nostalgia and celebration on January 10, as the Class of 2000 gathered for a grand reunion to mark the 25th anniversary of their graduation.

The event, held at the Mama Margaret Auditorium in Panbazar, brought together alumni from around the world to reconnect and relive the cherished memories of their school days.

The reunion was made possible through a concerted outreach campaign that sought to reconnect batchmates across the globe. The school, with enthusiastic support from the alumni, organised a day full of activities aimed at bringing old friends back together.
Starting at 2:30 PM, the event featured a meet-and-greet session, a nostalgic tour of the school, audio-visual presentations, music, and photo opportunities. The evening culminated in a delightful dinner and the presentation of exclusive memorabilia to commemorate the milestone reunion.

The event wasn’t just a celebration of alumni; it also honoured the contributions of staff members. Teachers such as Promode Moral, John Karunakaran, and Ruth Gomez fondly remembered the Class of 2000, praising them as “one of the finest batches” to pass through the school. They noted that the batch excelled academically and professionally, and they spoke with pride about their students’ accomplishments.

Alumni also reflected on their unique experiences during their time at Don Bosco. One alumnus recalled, “We were the last batch to write board exams based on both the 9th and 10th-grade syllabi. That challenge forged our resilience and unity.” Their memories were further enriched by the thoughtful gestures of the school, including a tribute to the departed members of the school’s student and staff fraternity, where prayers and condolences were offered.

The success of the reunion was a testament to the unbreakable Bosconian spirit, with more than 100 participants coming together to celebrate not only their past but also the lasting bonds forged through the school’s guidance and mentorship.

A highlight of the event was the felicitation of teachers, both teaching and non-teaching, as a token of gratitude for their contributions to the alumni’s growth and success.

As the evening drew to a close with group photos and heartfelt applause, the Class of 2000 left the event filled with nostalgia, camaraderie, and a renewed sense of brotherhood. The school encouraged all alumni to stay connected, promising future events and celebrations that would continue to foster the spirit of Don Bosco.
