Guwahati-based Startup Wins Big At Startup Maharathi Challenge 2025

Guwahati-based Flixbox Solutions LLP, the parent company of Skara, has secured the third position in the B2B category of the Startup Maharathi Challenge 2025 at the Startup Mahakumbh 2.0. The event was held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Saturday, April 6.

The award was presented to co-founders Ankita Saikia and Uddipta Das by Union Minister of Industry and Supply Piyush Goyal. The event also saw the presence of actor Sonam Kapoor, entrepreneur Aman Gupta of Boat, and members of the investor community. Flixbox Solutions was among the top five selected in its category from over 2,000 startups participating from across the country.

Headquartered in Assam, Flixbox Solutions had earlier this year launched its first software-as-a-service (SaaS) product, Skara. The platform enables businesses and video entrepreneurs to build and manage their own streaming websites. According to the company, Skara aims to make video content delivery faster and more cost-effective for enterprises and independent creators.

Co-founder Ankita Saikia stated that the recognition at a national-level platform is a reflection of the growing contribution of startups from the Northeast in India’s technology sector. With over two decades of experience in sales and business operations, she co-founded Flixbox alongside Porag Jyoti Gogoi and Uddipta Das.

Skara is currently being used by entrepreneurs working with pre-recorded video content to reach online audiences. As per the company, the platform positions itself within the growing global video streaming market, which is projected to reach $155 billion.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Goyal acknowledged the role of emerging startups in regional areas, including Assam, in contributing to India’s digital and economic landscape.
