GUWAHATI: Guwahati city police have arrested a courier service person on charges of stealing gold from his office. The person was arrested from his home town in Bokakhat in Golaghat district of Assam.
The accused has been identified as Nipen Saikia, a resident of Tamulipathar village in Bokakhat.

Reportedly, Saikia had stolen the gold from Prime Time Express Courier Service in Guwahati, where he was working as an employee.
As per police sources, Saikia quit his job following the incident. When the owner of the courier service came to know about the missing gold, he reported the incident to the police.
Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested the accused and recovered the stolen gold from his possession.
