GUWAHATI: The Joint Action Committee for Autonomous State (JACAS) has expressed concern over the showcasing of ‘Abhi-Neel Waterfall’ in the golden jubilee celebrations of Lakhimandir Durga Puja in Beltola.
JACAS appealed to the Kamrup (M) district administration to take appropriate action to deter the Lakhimandir Puja Committee from showcasing the ‘Abhi-Neel waterfall’.

According to the JACAS, the idea of highlighting the incident is an attempt to rake it up with intent to arouse public anger against the Karbis which could flare-up communal tension and lead further damage to the age-old cordial relationship between the Assamese and Karbis.
The waterfall themed pandal is around 25 feet in height and around 200 feet in length. As many as 20 artists under the supervision of Akhil Sinha are associated with the work.
