GUWAHATI: Guwahati police arrested a city-based businessman, Sanjay Kumar Kedia, on charges of sexual harassment on Wednesday, May 29.
The incident took place in the Cycle Factory area in Fatasil Ambari, Guwahati.
A young woman has accused Kedia, the owner of a heavy machinery manufacturing company, of harassing her at his office premises.

The victim lodged an FIR at the Fatasil Ambari Police Station in this regard.
Following the complaint, Kedia surrendered to the police and is said to have confessed to having committed such an act.
This incident has sparked public outrage with members of the All Assam Students' Union (AASU) taking to the streets, demanding action against the accused.
Similar allegations have been raised against Kedia in the past, as per reports.
Police have launched a thorough investigation into the matter.
A Fatasil Police Station official talking to GPlus said, "A case has been registered. The accused is detained. Further investigation is ongoing."
