GUWAHATI: The Dispur Police in Guwahati has registered a case against three persons for scamming people to hand over their vehicles for the purpose of leasing on rent under various ride-hailing platforms.

G Plus spoke to Dispur Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Prafulla Das who revealed that "The arrested used to take down payment from people and assured them of putting their vehicles on various ride-hailing platforms such as Rapido."
The accused Debajit Bhattacharya, Dhurbajyoti Das, and Saurabh Sinha used to convince people to buy bikes on down payment and promised to pay them monthly rent for their vehicles. Upon receiving the vehicle, they used to disappear.
The Dispur Police has received numerous complaints against the accused persons from different police stations of the city.
