Guwahati-based NGO Distributes Dry Ration to Villagers of Rani Patgaon

GUWAHATI: In a noble gesture, “Helping Hearts” a Guwahati based NGO along with the Border Security Force, Patgaon distributed packets of dry ration amongst the villagers in the vicinity of the Rani Patgaon BSF Camp.
 
The distribution took place under the personal supervision of the DIG BSF, J. K. Rudola, Kuldeep Gulia, V. N. Parashar and Anil Kumar and the core committee members of the Helping Hearts, viz. Pankaj Surana, Mukesh Achantani, Ashish Jalan, Pankaj Bansal and Dhruv Arya.

A total number of 350 packets, each containing 5Kgs Rice, 1 Kg Pulses, Salt ½ Kg, Mustard Oil ½ Kg, Haldi 50 gms, Onions 2Kg, Potato 2kgs and Bath Soap 1 Pc, were distributed in the villages near the camp, namely Kaharpara, Dharobadi, Khatiyamari, Bakarapara and Boratuli.

Anil Kumar, from BSF, was personally present throughout the distribution. In order to ensure that the ration reaches the needy, the battalion had done surveys beforehand and prepared a list of villagers who would need assistance with food and ration. 
“Helping Hearts”, is feeding an average of 2000 people with nutritious cooked food on a daily basis since the lockdown began and plans to continue the initiative till the lockdown gets over and life is back to normal.
