Guwahati: ACA Stadium Ground Staff To Get ₹10 Lakh

 

GUWAHATI: In recognition of their contribution to the T20 season, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced grants for the ground staff and curators at Indian Premier League (IPL) venues. Consequently, groundsmen and curators at the ACA stadium in Barsapara, Guwahati will get ₹10 lakh.

BCCI Honorary Secretary, Jay Shah, lauded the efforts of the "unsung heroes" - the ground staff, for their tireless work in maintaining top-quality pitches, even under challenging weather conditions. Shah expressed gratitude for their dedication and hard work, acknowledging their pivotal role in ensuring the success of the season.

“As a token of our appreciation, the groundsmen and curators at the 10 regular IPL venues will receive ₹25 lakhs each, and the same at the 3 additional venues will get ₹10 lakh each. Thank you for your dedication and hard work!”, stated Shah.

The ten regular IPL venues include Eden Gardens (Kolkata), Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium (Hyderabad), Sawai Mansingh Stadium (Jaipur), M Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bengaluru), MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chennai), Arun Jaitley Stadium (New Delhi), Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium (Lucknow), Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium (Ahmedabad), Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium (Mullanpur) and Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai).

Additionally, the three other venues that hosted IPL matches during the season were Dr YS Rajashekar Reddy ACA-VDCA International Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam (where Delhi Capitals played their first three home games), Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala (where Punjab Kings played their last two home games), and Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati (which became home for the Rajasthan Royals towards the end of the tournament).
