Guwahati: 24x7 Health Desk available for Ambubachi Mela devotees

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated Ambubachi Mela, 2018 in the presence of dharmagurus of Akhadas, satradhikars and spiritual gurus of Assam and north east at a function held at Sonaram HS School playground in Guwahati.

Speaking at the inaugural function Sonowal said that, five designated camps have been set up at Kamakhya Railway Station, Fancy Bazar Old Jail Campus, Naharbari Field, Near Kamakhya Temple, Boripara School Field and Mailgaon Old Railway Station, Pandu.

Further, three entry routes to Kamakhya temple have been opened for a hassle free commute - Main road from Kamakhya Rotary, Mekhela Ujowa Path and Pachim Duwar Path from Aruna Cinema hall.

Bus facility will be available from all the designated camp to the temple and also special ferry cars will be provided to differently abled, old and the infirm visitors, he added.

However, visitor’s entry will be restricted from 12 am to 5 am for cleaning and maintenance purpose.

Sonowal further said that keeping health related hazards in mind, a Health Desk will be working 24x7 at all the camps and on the Mela premises.

To promote cleanliness, Sonowal stressed upon using only bio-degradable cup, dish and glass to serve food.

For the convenience of all the visitors there will also be Help Desk at Guwahati Railway Station and Airport.
