GUWAHATI: Bollywood movie, 'Gully Boy' has been chosen as India's official entry at the 92nd Academy Awards or Oscars 2020.
The movie which is directed by Zoya Akhtar features Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles and is about the story of an aspiring rapper.
Taking to Twitter, Farhan Akhtar wrote,"#GullyBoy has been selected as India’s official entry to the 92nd Oscar Awards. #apnatimeaayega. Thank you to the film federation and congratulations."
The musical showcases the journey of a homegrown rapper and his struggles and triumphs.
The film also features Kalki Koechlin and Siddhant Chaturvedi in pivotal roles.
