GUWAHATI: Shubman Gill, the captain of Gujarat Titans, has incurred a fine following his team's sluggish over rate during their TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 encounter with Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, on March 26.

Gujarat Titans faced the consequences of their tardy over rate, with the penalty imposed under the IPL's Code of Conduct pertaining to minimum over rate violations. Notably, this marked the first offence of the season for Gill's team in this regard.
In accordance with the league's regulations, Shubman Gill has been fined Rs 12 lakh for the offence.

“Shubman Gill, the Gujarat Titans captain, has been fined after his team maintained a slow over rate during their TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on March 26. As it was his team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate offences, Gill was fined Rs 12 lakhs,” read the official media advisory.
